The Vessel Program recruits and cares for young Leithian women for the purpose of surrogating the pregnancies for the families of The Nine. The women are sequestered in a monastery located on Leith, where they are cared for by nuns.
Background
Land Kendry started the Vessel Program several generations ago to protect the women of the Nine from the discomfort of pregnancy and pain of childbirth.[1]
